A Slow Puncture to a Heightened State

Image: Beth Kettel

I’m a hard boiled egg
Although, I’ve been a vegan for 15 years so maybe that just leaves me
hard and boiled
Broiling under your high radiant heat in attempt to achieve a better state
A softer state
Subjected to a great oppressive heat
Burnt with impatience
Split tissue
The split tissue of your cracked heel staring at your new face cream
“revitalising deep-pore complexion”

I’m hard and boiled and deep and poor and complex, looking for revitalisation

I’m in the thick of it
Think of it like
A noisy disturbance
Amongst already established turbulence
Think of it like
Two figures dancing in discordance
Amongst already established divergence
To tenderise, without mallet or malice
Just two-sided noises shaped into words
Hammering hard and slow

I’m hard and boiled and deep and poor and complex, looking for revitalisation through tender eyes

A slow puncture to a heightened state
High enough to witness the clouds becoming extinct
To seek clarity in cosmic catastrophe
Sampling a better quality of suffering
From the soul of a softer state
From the sole to heel
Split tissue, cracking and weeping
Spilt tissues, crumpled into 3D
Three dimensional care
Fired into my panoramic blind spot

I’m hard and boiled and deep and poor and complex, looking for revitalisation through tender eyes, for the soul to heal with a better quality of suffering

A stamped on minuscule soul
Trapped in the cleft of a un-creamed cracked heel
Suffering the consequences
Unprotected from remorse and infection
Surrounded by mountains of raw soft tissue
Deeper than deep-pore complexion
In an unsure landscape
Waiting for the truth to come into season
Forecast of low radiance and patience
Towards softer tissue

I’m hard and boiled and deep and poor and complex, looking for revitalisation through tender eyes for the soul to heal with a better quality of suffering the consequences. Cream-crackered from homo sapien emotional complexion and from staring too long at the cream that’s to care for elsewhere.
